India vs South Africa 3rd T20I Highlights: India Take 2-1 Lead with Clinical Win

India vs South Africa 3rd T20I Highlights: India defeated South Africa by seven wickets in a dominant performance to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. The match, held at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, witnessed a brilliant bowling display from India’s pacers, who restricted South Africa to just 117 runs. India’s batters, led by openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, successfully chased down the target with 25 balls to spare, winning the game comfortably.

Clinical Bowling and Controlled Chase Lead India to Victory

India’s pacers were at their best in the 3rd T20I against South Africa, as they bowled out the visitors for a meager total of 117 runs. After being asked to bowl first, India’s bowlers made full use of the conditions in Dharamsala, with Arshdeep Singh (2/13), Harshit Rana (2/34), and Hardik Pandya (1/23) putting on a superb display of swing and pace bowling. Their efforts left South Africa struggling, with Aiden Markram being the lone resistance for the Proteas, scoring a valiant 61 runs off 46 balls.

India’s chase was equally efficient, with the openers, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, providing a solid foundation. Sharma’s 35 runs and Gill’s 28 runs were instrumental in keeping the required rate under control. However, the standout contribution came from Tilak Varma, who remained unbeaten on 26, guiding India to the target with 25 balls to spare. India reached 120/3 in 15.5 overs, sealing a convincing win.

South Africa’s Struggles and India’s Dominance

South Africa’s top order failed to capitalize on the early opportunities as the Indian pacers dominated the proceedings. Markram’s lone fightback wasn’t enough to lift his team, as they were reduced to 117 all out in just 16.5 overs. The Indian bowlers exhibited complete control, limiting the Proteas to an underwhelming total.

India’s chase, in contrast, was smooth and calculated. With the required target being small, Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma got India off to a steady start, while Tilak Varma ensured that the chase was completed efficiently, despite Suryakumar Yadav’s continued struggles with the bat. The win gave India a 2-1 series lead, putting them in a strong position going into the remaining matches.
