Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield Power Australia Women to 10-Wicket Win Over Bangladesh in Women’s ODI World Cup 2025

The Australia Women’s cricket team took a major step toward securing a Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 semifinal spot after a dominant 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh Women in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. Skipper Alyssa Healy continued her sensational form with a second consecutive century, while young opener Phoebe Litchfield provided stellar support in a flawless chase.

After being asked to bowl first, Australia Women restricted Bangladesh to 198/9 before Healy (113 off 77)* and Litchfield (84 off 72)* completed the chase in just 24.5 overs. The emphatic win further underlined Australia’s unmatched dominance in women’s cricket and brought them closer to a semifinal berth in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

Alyssa Healy’s masterclass was filled with attacking stroke play, including 20 boundaries, while Phoebe Litchfield complemented her captain perfectly with 12 fours and a six. The pair’s record partnership completely outclassed Bangladesh’s bowling attack.

Litchfield finished the game in style, hitting Fariha Trisna for consecutive boundaries to seal victory before the 25th over.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women chose to bat first and started steadily through Rubya Haider and Shobana Mostary. Mostary remained unbeaten on 66 off 80 balls — the highest score by a Bangladeshi batter against Australia in women’s ODIs. Despite her resistance, the Australian bowlers maintained relentless pressure.

Ashleigh Gardner, Alana King, Annabel Sutherland, Tahlia McGrath, and Georgia Wareham all played crucial roles in dismantling Bangladesh’s lineup. King (2/18), Sutherland (2/41), Gardner (2/49), and Wareham (2/22) shared eight wickets among them.

With this commanding win, Australia Women’s cricket team once again showcased why they are the most formidable force in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, demonstrating exceptional depth, leadership, and consistency.
