T20 World Cup 2026: All 20 Teams Confirmed as UAE Secure Final Qualification Spot

The lineup for the T20 World Cup 2026 is officially complete after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) clinched the 20th and final qualification spot. UAE sealed their place by defeating Japan by eight wickets in the Asia-EAP Qualifier held in Al Amerat on Thursday.

Haider Ali’s brilliant 3 for 20 and a 70-run opening partnership between Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem powered UAE to an easy chase of Japan’s 117, booking their ticket to next year’s mega ICC event — the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February–March 2026.

With UAE’s qualification, all 20 teams for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 have now been confirmed. Nepal and Oman also earned their spots through the same Asia-EAP qualification pathway.

The automatically qualified teams include hosts India and Sri Lanka, along with the top seven sides from the 2024 T20 World CupAfghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, and West Indies. Based on T20I rankings, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Ireland also secured direct entry.

From regional qualifiers, Canada claimed the Americas slot, Italy (making their T20 World Cup debut) and Netherlands qualified from Europe, while Namibia and Zimbabwe advanced from the Africa region.

The T20 World Cup 2026 will follow the same format as the previous edition — four groups of five teams each competing in the round-robin stage, followed by the Super 8s, semi-finals, and the grand final.

The excitement continues to build as teams begin their preparations for the biggest global cricket spectacle in the shortest format, with fans anticipating thrilling contests and the emergence of new stars in the T20 World Cup 2026.
