Blessing Muzarabani Injury Rules Him Out of Pakistan T20I Tri-Series

Blessing Muzarabani injury — Zimbabwe’s pace spearhead Blessing Muzarabani has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I tri-series in Pakistan, also featuring Sri Lanka, after suffering a back injury. The setback comes as Zimbabwe prepare for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Muzarabani to Miss Pakistan Tour

Muzarabani’s injury is the only change from the squad that recently faced Afghanistan at home. Newman Nyamhuri has been called up as his replacement. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza will lead an experienced side that includes Brendan Taylor, Ryan Burl, and Richard Ngarava.

The tri-series will serve as crucial preparation for Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup campaign, offering valuable match practice against high-quality opposition.

Zimbabwe’s Tri-Series Schedule

Zimbabwe will begin their campaign against hosts Pakistan in Rawalpindi on November 17, followed by a clash against Sri Lanka on November 19. The tournament then moves to Lahore, where Zimbabwe will play their remaining round-robin games on November 23 and 25. The final is scheduled for November 29 between the top two teams.

Squad Overview

Raza’s leadership group blends experienced internationals with emerging talents looking to make their mark on the international stage.

Zimbabwe squad: Sikandar Raza (capt), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Graeme Cremer, Bradley Evans, Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, Wellington Masakadza, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Brendan Taylor.

With Muzarabani’s absence, Zimbabwe’s pace attack will rely heavily on Ngarava and Evans to deliver early breakthroughs against Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s formidable top orders.

Focus on Preparation for T20 World Cup

Despite the Blessing Muzarabani injury setback, Zimbabwe will use the tri-series to test their bench strength and refine strategies ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Raza’s leadership and Taylor’s return add stability and experience to a side eager to prove themselves on the global stage.
